Stars with Swirl Hooks & Flames on Free Motion Mavericks from Quilting & Learning

Welcome to Free Motion Mavericks, week 306. It's been a month since I last free motion quilted (FMQ) a star. Today I'm going to show you the last two star blocks on the Pinwheels and Stars Baby Quilt.

Welcome to Free Motion Mavericks from Quilting & Learning

Hi! I'm glad that you dropped by for week 264 of Free Motion Mavericks.

It's been an incredibly busy week with my post for The Winter Blues Blog Hop on Tuesday and a finish required by Sunday morning with Project Quilting. I would love to say that I FMQ something just for today....but that didn't happen. Finally Off the Design Wall from Color Me Quilty

This quilt has been up on my design wall for months. It feels good to have it down and done.


 Not only is it done, it's all washed and soft. Simon, of course, had to test that out.


 I used Aurifil 50 wt white thread for the whole project - top and bobbin. Quilted beautifully.

 Simon is pointing out one of his favorite blocks. I combined many of Leah Day's fills within some organic shapes surrounded with straight lines.
